SHAWN R. REDMAN received his Bachelor of Sciences Degree from Louisiana State University in 1997. He subsequently attended Loyola University-New Orleans School of Law where he received his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2001. During his tenure at Loyola University, he participated in the comparative law studies program at the University of Vienna School of Law in Vienna, Austria.

Following his admission to the State Bar of Texas in 2001, Mr. Redman began his legal career with a well-established Houston, Texas law firm where he handled maritime, commercial litigation and general insurance defense matters. His practice includes representation of insurance carriers and employers before the United States Department of Labor, Texas Workers’ Compensation Commission and Texas Workforce Commission, as well as before the state and federal district and justice courts in Texas. Mr. Redman has gained first and second chair jury trial experience. Mr. Redman has subsequently expanded his practice to include the defense of premises owners and product manufacturers in the context of toxic tort litigation. Mr. Redman joined Smith & Carr, P.C. as an associate in 2005.

Mr. Redman is licensed to practice law in the State of Texas, the State of Louisiana and in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
